 Gold Standard Radio is an independently run and privately funded radio station, built for our local community, but recognised nationally, and overheard internationally.

To provide inclusive, community-led broadcasting that amplifies local voices, develops media skills for young gifted people, inspires positive action, and strengthens social connection. 

Gold Standard Radio exists to give a powerful and positive voice to the communities we serve. We believe that broadcasting should do more than entertain – it should connect, educate, empower, and uplift people of all backgrounds.

Our goal is to build a digital community radio platform that brings people together, showcases talent, supports cultural expression, and highlights the issues that matter 

At Gold Standard Radio (GSR), we provide our listeners with 

high quality music, and various genres from around the world.

 While we are a UK community station and our live broadcast is locally focussed, some content is available via  www.youtube.com/@GoldStandardRadio and www.mixcloud.com/GoldStandardRadio if international listeners want to connect with the the human voice, not the place.  

GSR is built on the passion of academically, technically and/or musically qualified individuals, who love to play their genres of choice. 

Our DJs have a unique sense of identity.  They are ethical,  conscientious and passionate about the music they play. 

GSR strives for Brilliance!  

GSR has a good ear for quality, which means we can only accept music that has been submitted to a high standard, so that recording artists, their music and the radio station are well presented.

  Dear Emerging Artists,

If you want your music played, promoted, here’s what you need to know:

• 1. DJs spend hours curating each show.
  They listen to hundreds of tracks, research artists, sort through files, translate foreign titles, and build playlists that honour your work. This takes time—and most do it for free.
• 2. Most independent DJs pay to be on a station.
  Yes, you read that correctly. Many pay £20–£25 a month just for the privilege of sharing your music. Station owners spend thousands every year to stay on air, at Gold Standard Radio we request a fee of £20 per month for adults and £5 per month for under 16's.
• 3. When you send your track to goldstandardradio@gmail.com, please include:
• Your artist name
• The song title (with English translation if applicable)
• Release date
• A short story or context behind the track
• Proper metadata in the file
• Your social handles
• Genre 
• A biography containing a meaningful story that highlights the inspiration behind your work is essential.
• 4. Please acknowledge DJs when they support you.
  A simple jingle, comment, repost, or thank-you goes a long way. DJs promote you to help your career—not because they have to, but because they believe in your work.
• 5. This is a partnership.
  Artists and DJs rely on each other. You create the music; DJs amplify it. When both sides communicate, the music travels farther, faster, and with more impact. We want to help you succeed—just help us help you.
